Song Review: DK (iKON) – LTNS

Since switching agencies, iKON members have had more opportunity to develop solo careers and explore different sounds. DK (Kim Dongyuk) is known as the group’s main dancer, but his music takes a more downbeat, angsty turn for pre-release LTNS (오랜만이야).

This track melds rock textures with mid-tempo percussion. The vocals are heavily filtered, giving them an intangible quality. LTNS is heavy on atmosphere, so murky you can almost swim through it. This lends it a strange dreamlike appeal — almost as if you’re listening to “The Upside Down” refection of a more traditional rock track. Its central hook is relentless, forming a repeated throughline from which the rest of the song orbits. It’s a memorable melody, but starts to wear a bit thin as LTNS goes on.

Overall, this is an interesting piece of music I don’t see myself returning to often.
