Farewell Overwatch – Hello Overwatch 2

  • Games

Overwatch has had its prime days. It was arguably one of the most innovated game that introduced a whole new playstyle and gameplay experience to the FPS domain. However, that all changed over the past few years. As Blizzard challenged difficult times, the company did not give the attention Overwatch deserves. Hence, this led to the downfall of Overwatch that felt so stale as no new updates, heroes, balance patches, game modes, maps, and much more were not introduced.

After years of promises, Overwatch 2 is now here to change the tide. The newly reworked game hopes to provide a better experience to players with its new 5vs5 fast paced team-based game. Blizzard has already begun its comeback by announcing a PvE story mode, new game modes, hero reworks, and heroes. The team is trying to fulfil the community’s needs to attract its players, and lay out the foundations to a newly sustainable game. Unfortunately, the PvE is being delayed, but we have news that the free to play PvP will be rolling out on October 4, 2022.

Another beta will be coming soon in a couple of days on June 28th, 2022. Two new heroes have been already implemented within 1 month in the two betas as opposed to the 3 new heroes that have been released over the last 4 years. Also, two control point maps have been removed and replaced with the new push game-mode.

It is evident that blizzard is trying to redeem themselves by keeping their new title up to date with consistent content being pumped into Overwatch 2. Once Overwatch 2 becomes live on the 4th of October, it will replace Overwatch. Although it might seem heartbreaking to some, it is time to bid farewell to Overwatch as well as the good and bad experiences that came with it. Players are excited to welcome Overwatch2 with open arms, hoping that it would make up for the past couple of years. Overwhelmed by anticipation, gamers are awaiting the whole new good experience Overwatch 2 has to offer.
