Room Of Mirrors (from Song Of The Sirens – 2020)
“Room Of Mirrors” is the most evocative title and prepares you for a song as equally mysterious. It’s a bit surprising, then, that this turns out to be a fairly standard GFriend track. It has a nice symphonic lilt in the way many of their songs do, but the arrangement restrains itself at every turn. The melodies have a similar nuance, airy and light even as momentum seems to point toward something more dramatic. It’s a fine album track, but the group have far stronger material within this same mood.
