The members of KARD have been consistently releasing solo work over the past few years, and now it’s J.seph’s turn to show what he can do. As one of two male members in the group, it feels like he was often in the shadow of BM, whose charisma has a much louder approach. This makes J.seph a bit of a mystery that debut single Easy does little to solve.
In short, Easy is exactly what you’d expect from a KARD solo. It could have easily been a KARD single, actually. That would have had the benefit of bringing together various vocal tones and styles to add texture and variety. J.seph does perfectly fine on its own, but we’ve heard this kind of song so many times in the past decade of K-pop. It’s hard to make it stand out and there’s nothing in the performance or production here that feels unique. The chorus kicks up some energy, but I doubt I’ll remember Easy in even a month’s time.
