Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Summer Game Fest Preview – Master the Elements!

While Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game features a Story Mode, an Arcade Mode with unique storylines for all characters, and Casual and Ranked Matches, we set out to master Avatar Legends: The Fighting Games’ elements (heh) at Summer Game Fest Play Days with some Training Mode labbing.

Featuring legends from both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra (it’s in the name!), iconic characters like the boomerang-wielding Sokka and the Fire Nation’s one and only Zuko bring their own unique battle mechanics, perfectly suited for different play styles.

Seems only fitting they translate to the 1v1 fighting game space, yeah?

Those raised on a steady diet of Arc System Works-style fighters like Guilty Gear and Blazblue will be right at home with Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game’s speedy action. Its multi-hit combos, dashes (including air-dashes), and bending elements that used fire, ice, and more had us pulling from the same energy normally reserved for Sol Badguy or Jin Kisaragi.

There are standard light, medium, and hard attacks, but Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game keeps things all its own with its designated Flow Stance.

When used, players can protect themselves from any incoming enemy attacks. When paired with directional options, players can easily turn defense into offense with the right approach.

Mastering the elements, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game proves that there’s always a right way to do things with its fast-paced fighting game action.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is set to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam on July 23. Note that Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game features full cross-play support and rollback netcode!
