Onimusha: Way of the Sword Summer Game Fest Preview – Bloodstained Battles Await!
An all-new entry in Capcom’s storied Onimusha series (we’re talking PlayStation 2 roots!), Onimusha: Way of the Sword transports players to Edo-period Kyoto as they contend with he malevolent clouds of Malice.
Taking control of ardent samurai Miyamoto Musashi (featuring a facial model of Toshirō Mifune!), Onimusha: Way of the Sword will have players fighting back against the Genma as they carefully take down each foe in this dark fantasy epic.
Don’t think this’ll be easy; Onimusha: Way of the Sword requires players to find the proper flow of each battle. Swordplay action in this action-adventure stresses the importance of perfectly timed strikes, parries, and finishers.
Factoring in demonic foes like Dohatsu-ten (above), those that take on Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s many demonic forces will need to carefully time their strikes as they embrace this dance of death.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword also keeps things fresh by having players utilize the new Oni Gauntlet. With this device in play, Miyamoto Musashi absorb the Genma souls that he cuts down, converting them into even more power.
All those who adopt the way of the samurai in Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be treated to masterful swordplay as they bravely take on the fearsome Genma menace.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword will release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 25.
A demo of Onimusha: Way of the Sword is also available across all platforms. Those that complete it can get themselves an item that can be redeemed in the full release.
