Beast of Reincarnation Review

Taking control of the Sealer Emma, she is one of the few people that can stop a creature that has corrupted the world.

Teaming up ally Koo, Beast of Reincarnation will task players with traveling around and defeating enemies to drain their powers and improve her own blight powers in the process.

Emma also possesses the ability to manipulate plants, using that defeat enemies and traverse this dying world.

While useful for fighting, this mechanic truly shines when used for traversal.

In Beast of Reincarnation, players can use this mechanic to make bridges and jump higher, or alternatively used as a hookshot.

Emma is not tethered to the ground, making her truly shine. Rather, she can jump, spawn roots under her feet mid-air, and then use them to get even higher. While she can’t do it twice in a row, even this single use provides a wealth of options when it comes to both engaging enemies and getting around the map.

While this mechanic takes getting used to, it is also immensely enjoyable.

Meanwhile, Beast of Reincarnation’s combat is simple at first, gradually getting more complex.

All basic attacks in Beast of Reincarnation come from one button, allowing for quick spam hits. However, at the end of a basic attack, Emma can then follow up with a combo attack, with additional options unlocked along the way.

Later parts of Beast of Reincarnation will allow players to perform two or three simple attacks, leading into a bigger combo attack.

Beast of Reincarnation also features aerial attacks, Koo skills and attacks, and one’s own hair abilities.

As a result, Beast of Reincarnation is one of those games where the average player can utilize easy combos and parries, all while elite players can truly show off.

Playing on Normal, most of its open world content was fairly straightforward without much issue.

That being said, many of Beast of Reincarnation’s bosses stopped things on more than one occasion…

While bosses are fun and quickly learnable for mastering one’s parries and skills, no bosses in Beast of Reincarnation are just one-and-done.

Rather, bosses are always running, granted another health bar, or entering a second phase – which proves to be draining.

Have you ever played a title where you beat the bad guy, but the cutscene still makes you lose? It’s like that – over and over again.

However, Beast of Reincarnation’s world itself is fun to explore. Part jungle, that area is vibrant with trees, plants, and even animals.

It’s provides an interesting contrast when compared to the droids and metal structures scattered elsewhere.

There is also plenty to collect in Beast of Reincarnation, allowing players to get new weapons, armors, charms for Koo, cooking recipes, upgrade parts, side quests, and even merchants.

Since players can make vine bridges and jump super high, getting to hidden areas in Beast of Reincarnation is also fairly easy.

One of the cooler parts of Beast of Reincarnation comes with its mobile camp. While there, players can cook, craft, sleep, farm, and shower.

Players can also farm through the use of its grow pod as they choose which seeds to grow – you can even get eggs from your hens!

When harvesting ingredients, players can cook food with the recipes found, which then provide buffs perfect for boss fights.

A nice change of pace, this element of Beast of Reincarnation really lets players catch their breath.

While suffering from the occasional stutter, these frame drops largely happen in cutscenes.

Do note that there is no mini-map in Beast of Reincarnation, though Koo can sniff out items.

Featuring a rich world ripe for exploration and deep, impactful combat, Beast of Reincarnation is a fantastic action RPG worthy of all adventurers this summer.
