The Upgrade facility in Star Wars Zero Company offers some vital improvements and technological upgrades for your squad. It utilizes a familiar research system that allows players to unlock new improvements and upgrades through Research that, typically takes at least one cycle to complete.
It’s important to prioritize more impactful upgrades, but the options vary greatly. You can increase Influence gain in any of the major zones, unlock new facilities for The Den, or Research upgrades that benefit every member of your squad.
The best way to unlock more Upgrades quickly is to maximize the Build Slots. Initially, at the start of the game, you’re restricted to one Research project at a time, so one Build Slot.
You want to unlock more Build Slots to Research multiple items at once.
How To Unlock Build Slots
Build Slot 1 is unlocked during Cycle 4, as a reward for progressing through the story naturally.
Build Slot 2 is unlocked through Influence. You need to reach Tier 3 with Zone Dorn
Build Slot 3 is unlocked through Campaign progress. You need to complete the Critical Operation Cast A Dark Shadow, which appears on the Holotable around Cycle 13
Best Early Game Build Order
Black Market (This is the only Research available initially)
Droid Repair Bay (This allows you to start recruiting Droid units)
Black Market Quality (This increases loot quality, so you want that effect for as long as possible)
Networking (So you gain more Influence per Contact placed)
