The quest “Fifteen Men On A Dead Man’s Chest” is one of the earliest quests in Windrose that introduces the treasure finding and digging mechanics. Using a special item that you find, it unlocks a quest to find buried treasure.
Some of these quests provide direct map locations, while others provide hints and tips. The “Fifteen Men On A Dead Man’s Chest” quest tells you where to go, but when you arrive, there’s just a group of skeletons lying around on the floor.
To complete this quest, you need to unlock and craft a shovel. This is done by smelting a Copper Ore into a Copper Bar in the Furnace and then picking up the Copper Bar. This unlocks several recipes, including the shovel.
Once you have the shovel, head to the location shown on the map. You’ll notice that the skeleton bodies actually form a small circle. Use the shovel to dig in the center of that circle to reveal a treasure chest.
BONUS TIP: When you interact with the treasure chest, several undead enemies will spawn. These enemies will need to be killed before the chest can be looted.
Once you have looted the chest, the quest will be completed.
