Where they from?
Chicago, IL. The Stanley Cup Playoffs started this past weekend. My pick is the Dallas Stars to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in the final. So glad they both lost their opening games of their series, makes me feel really confident in my picks!
Why the hype?
This duo does a wonderful blend of goregrind with neocrust while retaining an excellent sense of humor, which in today’s day and age, feels like an absolute miracle. The gore-soaked blasts and gurgles are augmented by these hauntingly catchy melodic flourishes that would make His Hero Is Gone rather proud. If you like D-beat in any sense of the term you should get hip to this band as they love to churn out rather punishing tornadoes of it.
Latest release?
Split w/ Toughguy, self-released. One year at Ozzfest I got into an argument with my friend over the proper pronunciation of the word ‘behemoth.’ Turns out he was right and my Polish immigrant Mom had been pronouncing it wrong all these years. Twenty years later he’s a Wall Street banker and I’m sitting here writing about grindcore. No ragrets.
